New tattoo, New here.
Hello wonderful world of inkage.

The name is Megan and I live in sunny Cape Town, South Africa. Im new here.

I currently have a tattoo of a tribal dog on my left calf, see my journal for pics and feel free to add me as a friend if you like....

Anyway, so my next tattoo will more than likely come soon. I want my other calf done with another dog type design but different, so the two will be facing each other....I was thinking of a monster type dog design with some colour. So to me it will represent my love for dogs but also the thin line between reality and dreams etc etc well that is what it means to me anyway.

everyone has there own reality.....I guess.

Some ideas or recomendations would be really great.

Hey all!!!

Well I do need some help :)
I'm getting my first tattoo for my 18th birthday buuut I need some refrences :/

I'm looking for comic book or mor cartoony styled zombies but am not having any luck :c

are there any sites or links you could point me to?

My birthday isn't til February 28th so I won't be getting my ink for a while, but I've got the perfect artist in mind and everything drawn out, except for my zombies ^^;

It's that time again for me to show you all my last session on the Moulin Rouge sleeve! I decided to get the windmill filled in this time. I sat for two hours and I'm going back in two weeks to finish up the clouds/sky/moonman! I pretty much love it. This part of my arm really wasn't that bad (except for the top of my shoulder). This is the 6th session on my sleeve.

hi all!
Quick guestion; Can I go to get a tattoo if I'm having a flu?

I got a little flu today and my nose is running and my mouth is dry, I feel kinda weak, but I don't have fever or anything. I don't even need to cough, just sneeze at times. I have a tattoo appointment tomorrow afternoon, but do you have any idea if the tattoo artist will tattoo me or not? I couldn't ask him today because the shop is closed (due to a Finnish holiday, blaah). I had to wait MONTHS to get this appointment in the first place because the artist is so popular and I wouldn't want to wait another half a year because of a goddamn flu.

Oh, and I don't even think this is highly contagious, at least not swine flu. I've had it once already and this doesn't feel anything like it.

Any knowledge? If so, please share!

EDIT: A cold is way closer to what I'm having now, not a flu. Sorry, English is not my first language. :D

2 questions, thoughts wanted

HI guys. I have this as a tattoo- the owl only not the box around it (sorry this is the drawing, I lost the pic of it - its on my right calf and it is about the size of a deck of cards):

Im thinking of adding branches around him, in the same henna brown. He sometimes feels to be just floating on my leg, hes not grounded there. The branches would be craggly and twisty like him.

Thoughts?

I am also considering getting this tattooed:

or at least one of the feathers, they are drawings of my birds feathers. I have no idea where good placement would be though- will take any suggestions and pros-cons. Unfortunatly- Due to my profession I cant have anything visable in scrubs- though my current boss wouldnt care- future ones might.

Slightly random note...
There's this weekly paper my company subscribes to and I read on occasion. In their latest edition they did a short article on college and universities professors with tattoos. It's under the cut, but seeing it made me proud of the tats that have and the ones I plan on getting in the future.

Hi, I'm new here. I already have two tattoos, but I'd like to get another one. In memory of my dad, who showed me a great appreciation for music, I want to get "Ob La Di Ob La Da Life goes on"

Your opinions and advice would be sexy
I've been watching this community for a while, but only recently joined. I've never gotten a tattoo before, but god I've wanted one forever. I have two planned, and I hope to get at least one of them sometime this year. Lady Gaga fans anyone? I want something similar to her roses on her hip/lower back. Like this, and right here is the exact design I'd get:

(You can click it to make it bigger) The treble cleft would be right in the center of my back, and wrap around my lower back to my hip. Can you guys please give me some advice/opinions/suggestions about where it would be placed, what may happen in 20 years, anything you think about it? My owl side-piece
Earlier this year I got my first tattoo, some text with a little design on my wrist. For my second one I knew I wanted to go big. I've wanted an owl tattoo for the longest time and my artist is doing an amazing job. At first I wanted it on my left-lower back but its stretched to my entire side. Sorry for the shitty pictures=[, when it's all finished I'll post a good one.

i'm getting a thigh piece and my tattoo artist told me to wear "boy shorts" -- "something you'd be comfortable wearing all day in the parlor, but that can stay rolled up."

everything i'm finding in stores are either too floppy or capris or ... some manner of undergarment. does someone have any idea that i can quickly purchase?

i'm quickly starting to consider buying leggings and hacking off most of the legs.

edit -- you guys make me feel flush with thigh piece victory!

Hi! I'm new to this community, so mod please feel free to delete if I'm breaking any rules. I was looking for a general design for a tattoo I want - basically I want something that has a pinup-type girl putting on makeup - I really want the focus to be on the makeup/cosmetics. Anytime I do an image search online, however, it brings up cosmetic tattooing, as in permanent eyebrows and lipliner. I'm not really interested in that. I'm a makeup artist and so I want to reflect that in my tattoo. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks so much in advance!!!!

Cat tattoos
I'm curious to see if anyone of you have any cat (related) tattoos. I'd love to see pictures of them and their placement + why did you get it?

I'm planning on getting a cat tattoo some time next year; most likely cat paws ~~or a cat silhouette~~.

touch up question.
i think i'm going to need a touch up on one of my tattoos in the near future. i'm not so smart and wore pants that rubbed on it a little too much too soon. sad. anyway, would i be able to get it done anywhere, or should i go back to the shop i went to to get it done? sometimes artists do touch ups for free, as long he/she is the one who inked you.

i'll probably wait until the warmer months because i can focus on not-as-high waist apparel for my lower half.

Looking for Good Artists in the Atlanta area
Hey All,

I don't have any ink yet, but I am in the market for artists in the Atlanta area that people have gone to and would vouche for them doing quality work. I'm looking to get a tattoo on the underside of my left arm starting at my wrist with lyrics from AFI's "Leaving Song". The lyrics I would get there are "Walked away, heard them say, "Poisoned hearts will never change, walk away again," turned away in disgrace, felt the chill upon my face cooling from within". I'm also looking to get another tattoo on the other arm in the same position with lyrics from The Smith's "How Soon is Now?". The lyrics I would get from that song are "You shut your mouth How can you say I go about things the wrong way I am Human and I need to be loved Just like everybody else does". I'm still working out the details of the second one, but I'm set on the first one. I've been an AFI fan since I was 14 (I'm 20 now), so it'd mean a lot to me. Anyway, I would appreciate it if anyone could give me suggestions for good artists in the Atlanta area. Thank you.

I'm thinking of getting a small tattoo somewhere on one of my feet regarding one of my favorite hobbies - journaling.

I'm looking for it to be small and simple; I'm really picky about size and placement. My first (and only, so far) tattoo is about an inch square. A photo is included under the cut.

I was thinking of getting a nice/cute pen, perhaps, but I'm drawing a blank on other ideas.

I also love the idea of getting some sort of a camera; any ideas for a simple camera or something to do with photography?
